W Costa Navarino
Where luxury and informality meet
Costa Navarino, Greece
The vision
The W Costa Navarino marked the debut of the brand in Greece, introducing a new type of luxury resort experience into the country with its vibrant and creative energy. Inspired by the location overlooking the historic Bay of Navarino and surrounded on land by olive and cypress groves, our ambition was to celebrate the natural world, the ancient stories of the region and the local artisanal traditions, translating these into a contemporary and playful experience at one with the essence of W Hotels.

Spaces
The design is an alliance of indoors and out in which buildings are constructed from stone hewn from the site and, inside, all stone, timber and metals are from the region. Public areas and guestrooms flow seamlessly from olive groves to a panorama of the sea.
At the heart of the resort lies a playful reimagining of the Platia – the classic Greek market square – with a collection of cafes and restaurants, each opening onto shared terraces where guests can sit wherever they like, meet up with passing friends or find a quiet niche for evening dinner.
The aesthetic of the bedrooms and suites is simple and honest. Local crafts such as basket weaving, carpentry, ropemaking, leatherworking and pottery are embraced but reinterpreted into something new. Guestrooms on the ground level open up onto terraces that step down to pools; suites and villas are located alongside the beach, each with a pool and garden.
