Reinventing one of Europe’s oldest Resort Hotels
The 115-year old Palace Hotel has been reinvented as a synthesis of grand fin-de-siècle style and contemporary interior design – a complement to the other hotels in Bürgenestock, now once again one of Europe’s most glamorous resorts. The lounge has been restored to replicate the original and new custom-designed furniture is complemented by antique pieces and masterpieces from the hotel’s vast collection. The fine dining RitzCoffier restaurant abounds in restored memorabilia, from 1,000+ vintage copper pots collected from across Bürgenstock to an original cooking range repurposed as the buffet counter. By contrast, the large conference centre is modern in style, albeit with historic touches, and the 108 guestrooms are designed to be comfortable and homely with natural oak case goods, worn leather armchairs and faux fur throws.
